Nub Fact Number Eight: āDragon Dazeā So this is gonna be a somewhat heavy one. But, if you get through it, itās an overall happy ish one. After the accident (and still to this day), i suffered from chronic pain. For awhile, it was under control with meds (perks and muscle relaxers) i took it how it was meant. I was more successful and ableā¦ā¦ Until i couldnāt find a doctor whoād take Me as a new patient in the city where i went to schoolā¦. And everyone i loved was on dope. I got tired of watching them not feel anything while i suffered, so i gave into it. For five years, i chased that demon to places i couldāve never thought Iād be. I loved the lack of pain, the ability to keep a job because my body wouldnāt give up, until it was too much. I watched my fiancĆ© die twice, and had to leave. To try to find a different option before it was too late. It worked awhile. I went to the dr. Went back to sticking to a regime and going to meetings. Until he doubled my dosage in one visitā¦ā¦and i moved back to the city. Once againā¦. Couldnāt find a doc. Then smoking didnāt work, neither did my noseā¦.. and then we all know what came next. 5 years i was lostā¦ā¦until i moved home. Until i drove myself, detoxing, alone, across the usa. Literally, all the way across. You face yourself on a drive like that. You learn who YOU are. Iām now about to celebrate 7 years clean from h. These shots are the first few i took after cleaning up the first time. And i show them to you now, to be vulnerable. Idk. Maybe itāll help one of you understand a friend, or see hope for yourself, or idk, maybe understand me a little. ā¤ļø

It all started with one rubber bracelet from my hometown coffee companyā¦which, as soon as i put on my arm, i realized could only be removed with my teeth. Realizing breaking it was too big a risk, i just left it there. Anyone else ever get told be an adult that if you hit $1 it would multiply? This was basically the same idea. That one bracelet kept living its best life, soon accompanied by around 30 others. These included hair tires, rubber bracelets from various random places (1 found on the ground at Mysteryland 2014), and even hospital bracelets!! At some point in my later twenties, my ex gave me a talking to. Explained how not safe that was to my general health and essentially made me convinced (for a moment) that my bracelets would make my other arm fall off š¤¦āāļøš¤¦āāļø Today, i miss my bracelets. They were part of my story. They made me me. š
