*UPDATE 12/8* HE BEAT CANCER! The total cost of his treatment was $8,640. Luckily his thyroid carcinoma was not attached to any major arteries and they were able to remove it with very minor risks involved. The cancer was entirely removed and did not spread due to it being isolated and within a hard capsule-like tumor, he has follow up X-rays in about 3 months to ensure it hasn’t popped up anywhere else but as of now we can ring his bell and celebrate! Thank you for the support during these difficult times. His surgery recovery was difficult as his body was unhappy and he formed some clots but as of today they have all completely dissolved/reabsorbed. He is a happy healthy boy! *UPDATE* 10/6 So unfortunately he does have a thyroid carcinoma, which is a malignant form of cancer. I won't know more until we see an oncologist for a consultation. My vet is looking for a local oncologist that can see us ASAP because this cancer has a very high mortality rate if unchecked and allowed to progress without intervention. I am going to have to discuss the overall cost and more with the oncologist when we do get in as cancer treatment tends to get into the thousands for treatment. I will keep you all up to date as I know more - and I may take a few days to reply to messages as when I received the news I was very upset and injured my hand so typing is a bitch right now. Hey lovelies! Unfortunately my dog might have cancer, we went in today to get testing/X-rays and we’re awaiting results from the lab but as you can imagine the vet bills are insane. This is on top of his pre-existing kidney disease and hip dysplasia, he’s had a rough go of it and when I adopted him I promised to give him the world, originally I meant to foster him but fell in love with him and had to make him mine. I’m determined to help him stay healthy and overcome this!
