A 🦃 Day story: I’m so glad I survived the Thanksgiving chaos of hosting. I mean, just barely…I spent the week leading up to the day working my butt off boss babe-ing then the 2 days before prepping food. All that I really needed to do on Thanksgiving day itself was bake the Turkey. BUT as luck would have it, something strange conspired with my oven and even though I got the Turkey in the oven at 12:30 for a 5 pm dinner time, when I went to do stage 2 of the Turkey baking around 4 pm, it was still pretty raw. I was beside myself. Stage two is when you pull the foil off and slather a butter/orange peel/rosemary mixture all over the Turkey then bake, basting every 15-20 minutes until the internal temp reaches 165-168°. So instead, we cut up the mostly raw Turkey in chunks and started baking those smaller pieces at 500° just to get them on the table for all 9 of my ravenous guests. Everyone was so gracious and ready to jump in and help. I’m so grateful for my village because it does indeed take that very thing to pull off hosting a major holiday like Thanksgiving while having 3 kiddos and running multiple businesses full time. And I only had one minor breakdown and cried my face off for 5 minutes then toon a shot of whiskey and re-joined the festivities 😅🤪 Back to business as normal now. Xoxo ~BG
