Squat day. I’m grateful I can still do squats for all these decades without any knee or lower back issues. The secret is I've always gone for lighter weight/increased repetitions. Even this is heavier than I normally go. When I was 26 I tried doing a set of squats at 315 lbs at Golds Gym in Venice Beach, Ca. There were female bodybuilders squatting that weight. I figured I could too. As I plunged up and down for 10 reps I felt enormous strain on my knees and hips. I knew then I would never do heavy squats again. What's the point? It's important to have control of the weight you're lifting. Not the other way around.
