2024-03-01 22:42:25 +0000 UTC View PostThe battery was 10 years old, who knows the last time it worked. New Duracell and it fired off perfectly. That was one of the nastiest doors I've seen in a long time.

2024-03-01 00:21:40 +0000 UTC View PostFekkin' NASTY kitchen 🤢 ...AND Fire Marshal Bill is going to pop a vein when (if ever) he sees that homemade rebar barrel bolt 😂
2024-02-28 01:01:14 +0000 UTC View PostI swear... Every fekkin' day I find something off the wall 😳🙄😂

2024-02-22 03:31:18 +0000 UTC View PostFekkin' maintenance guys butchered this and then left it like that. Rebuilt it with a 1690 kit and it works great now 👍
2024-02-22 03:28:27 +0000 UTC View PostManager said maintenance removed it from one door and installed it on this one 🤣 From a LHr directly to a RHr door... *And this was on the "good" door.
2024-02-22 03:22:19 +0000 UTC View PostFound this shitty USCAN storeroom lever while doing other things in a school. Maintenance is going to get a count of locks and we'll be installing grade 1 hardware soon
2024-02-22 03:17:17 +0000 UTC View PostPlease do NOT put graphite in your locks. I don't like WD-40 either as it tends to gum up over time and it also attacks dust, dirt and debris. This 3-in-One LOCK DRY LUBE is available at most hardware stores and home improvement centers. It's good stuff and works as well as professional locksmith lubes such as Houdini and Tri-Flow spray.
2024-02-17 15:41:23 +0000 UTC View PostVacant suite that a restaurant abandoned. No keys available and needed rekeyed... Interchangeable core would not pick, decided to drill control shear and replace cores. It drilled quick and turned easily to control BUT would NOT fucking pull out. I eventually got the door open, removed the deadbolt and had to drill a small hole on the back and use a punch to knock the core out. It was so corroded up in there it was like super glue. New core slid right in and I reinstalled the deadbolt. The bottom threshold lock was not locked and hadn't been used in years. I suspect either a very long Allen wrench would be needed or pulling the door to get to it. After the property manager witnessed the issue with the deadbolt, she said disable that bottom lock, it looks like a nightmare. The inside and outside keyway on the bottom lock were filled and effectively rendered useless.
2024-02-17 15:32:12 +0000 UTC View PostI was raiding our parts department after hours over the weekend looking for an Adams Rite 4900 dead latch. I had used the last on my van a day or two before and I had to get one for Mondays 3 hours road trip. I needed to be in deep East Texas at 9am. I finally found what I was looking for. I arrived to the job on time and made good (really good) money that day.

2024-02-17 15:07:18 +0000 UTC View PostThe IT guy made copies of his key at a hardware store and then wondered why the new keys didn't work 🙄 Guys, don't get keys at a hardware store, the rarely work correctly.
2024-02-17 13:57:52 +0000 UTC View PostI road tripped 150+ miles to replace a lock. I get to middle of nowhere and find they have Sarget XC restricted key system 🙄 Fortunately I only needed to clean, lube and service the key cylinder and replace the thumb turn. The thumb turn was worn out and offset a degree or two causing malfunction during locking and unlocking. Both fucking set screws on the Adams Rite were broken. Had to force out the thumbturn and replace the set screw. Anyways, they got a new thumb turn and everything works great now.
2024-02-17 13:54:47 +0000 UTC View PostI found a maintenance man special the other day. It's been updated to a new paddle which was professionally installed the correct way. It's amazing that the old one even worked for 20 years 😆

2024-01-28 00:10:39 +0000 UTC View PostReplaced maintenance man crap on underground parking garage stairwell doors. I installed Grade 1 passage levers in place of the handyman's hardware store crap.

2024-01-23 01:09:12 +0000 UTC View PostAll the sudden no one could remember the master code... 😆 Had to hard reset these two AlarmLock DL2700s to factory default then reprogram new codes.
2024-01-23 01:06:37 +0000 UTC View PostContractor installed a half a dozen of these Yale pieces of shit on a new construction. 25 years ago Yale was one of the best, nowadays it's overpriced cheaply made junk. Anyways, it's all master keyed now.
