She insisted that science is much more important and accused me of “selling out” to business, claiming I’d betrayed science and academia. She argued that my academic work is more important than my business role because science has a greater impact on society. I had to smile (secretly) at her naivety. In the end, I asked her how many people actually read her last paper, which she’d worked on for over six months and published in a academic journal.
