I never liked the previous one. I came up with it a few years ago, combining my zodiac sign and my legal first name, but people often think because of my nickname that I'm one of those astrology freak people. It couldn't be further from the truth. I don't believe in astrology at all and I literally could not care less about people's star signs. So, it was finally time to get rid of my old nickname and choose a new one. The new name 'Kirara' sounds very similar to my legal first name (Dorina) and the idea came from an anime I loved watching when growing up called "Inuyasha". Kirara is cat demon, a cute little creature but also can transform into a powerful beast anytime when it's needed - and I can completely see myself like this lol.. and I just think this name sounds beautiful.
