Power was finally restored on Thursday afternoon, but since my numbing from my surgery wore off, I’ve been in significant pain. The pain medication I’ve been taking has made me so drowsy, and constipated. that I’ve spent most of the time barely able to stay awake and having terrible stomach pains.
Walking, passing gas, and having bowel movements have all been painful. I was constipated for over three days, which caused agonizing discomfort. Thankfully, the pain has started to subside, but I know I still have a long road to recovery ahead. At this point, I think I can manage without the pain meds except when I need them for bowel movements. This will hopefully allow me to focus more on resting and working from bed without feeling so lethargic.
Most of my days so far have been spent in bed, trying to recover, aside from moments spent in the bathroom or in the tub dealing with the pain. It’s been a tough process, but I believe the worst is behind me. That said, I know I’ll continue to struggle with bathroom pain until the surgical area has healed more.
Thank you so much for your patience and kind words throughout this first week of recovery. It means the world to me. I’ll be spending this week resting in bed while being online more consistently, watching some TV, and catching up on messages.
