I swam out a little further than I should have, and from what we can guess I got stuck in a rip current. I was trying to keep my head above water and signal my friends for help, but no one noticed that I was struggling. I was up to my chin, and could barely touch the ground while the receding waves kept pulling me back. It took 15 minutes of fighting to finally finally make it back to shore. I lost my favourite red sunglasses, but managed to save my hat and myself. But there were a few moments where I just felt so tired and ready to give up and let the water take me. It was fucking scary. I spent most of yesterday crying and trying to deal with almost dying. That's what I get for trying to be Moana.
