It was off across the sea 🌊 (over a bridge) to the Isle of Skye. If you've always been looking for a landscape straight out of an enchanted Scottish fairytale, you'll find it on the Isle of Skye (or simply Skye). Every rock juts out of the ground as if it were a frozen troll 🧌 , while streams and waterfalls run through the barren island as if they were trying to mould its character.
Like no other holiday destination, Skye combines all the advantages of the Highlands: rolling hills, bizarre mountain ranges, bays, beaches, lochs, sea - all in beauty 🩷 and in abundance. There is also an extremely high density of places of interest: There are several castles 🏰 , two whisky 🥃 distilleries, a historic village (Museum of Island Skye), a famous rock needle (Old Man Storr), beautiful and varied mountain landscapes, idyllic harbour towns and much, much more.
I stayed at the View Field House Hotel in Portree. A charming hotel where time has stood still. In the evening, I sat by the fireplace with the other guests in the few rooms, just like in a youth hostel, enjoying a whisky 🥃 and chatting about the various excursion destinations. It was marvellous and enchanted. And the view of the bay from the room in the morning - breathtaking! Kisses 😘
