I continued my Scotland tour to the capital of the Highlands - Inverness. It is located at the north-east end of the Great Glen. It is the largest city in northern Scotland. Around a third of all Highland residents live in Inverness. Inverness is also famous for being the site of the murder of Duncan I by Shakesspeare's Macbeth. The name comes from the Gaelic and means: the city on the River Ness. The riverside is perfect for a stroll. I did just that extensively. My hotel had a wonderful beer garden right on the River Ness - at 12 kilometres, by the way, the shortest river in Scotland. Hotel: Glen Mhor. Kisses 😘
