Today for me isn't a day of celebration, but rather a day to continue in the fight to end gendered violence. To end r@pe culture. To end transphobia, racism, whoreaphobia, ableism, sexism, homophobia. To end the patriarchy. I hope that 2021 we see more movement towards an intersectional feminism where we have a place to exist without violence. Cis men, please remember to give thanks to all the women in your life for all the emotional labour they do, the physical labour they do, for their resilience, for their bravery. To your family members for raising you, for taking care of you and providing. To your teachers for educating you and guiding you. To your partners, lovers, friends, family, co-workers. Give thanks. To my fellow sisters, I love you. You are magic. Let's remember that a strong woman stands up for herself but also a strong woman stands up for everyone else. May we never forget our fallen sisters who couldn't be here today because of violence. May you rest in power. <3
