We often avoid talking about mental health, either because we fear being judged or because we’ve been taught to keep our struggles hidden. Society tends to place more value on appearing strong than on being honest about our emotions, which can make it difficult for people to seek help when they need it. Instead of acknowledging our pain, we smile, say we’re fine, and push through, even when we’re struggling inside. But the truth is, mental health is just as important as physical health, and ignoring it doesn’t make the struggles disappear. The more we talk about it, the more we can break the stigma and create a world where people feel safe to express what they’re going through without fear of shame or rejection.
