These simple but deceivingly difficult exercises really help build up the surrounding musculature aiding and reducing the strain on the knee. For the step ups, step up w/ high knee, and flat footed touchdown, feel free to use something that is bigger than a 2" ledge like a step or curb. With the touch-down with the ankle elevated, you would not want to use anything more than a 2" ledge, the most of an angle i would say is to use a sidewalk ledge. Again incorporate these exercises with 3 sets a piece with 8-15 reps a piece. Do not get discouraged with these is you have difficulty with balance and stability. These should test your skill set. Do the best you can!
