The Buddhist philosophy of Shambhala teaches a unique form of meditation. In many ways it is similar to most forms of meditation. But what makes Shambhalic meditation unique is that instead of closing the eyes, the eyes remain open. The reason being that we meditate in order to move through the world as kind, centered beings. Well, since we usually move through the world with our eyes open, why not meditate with them open? It is a simple technique of establishing a downward, soft gaze while meditating.
Which brings us to the picture that accompanies this post. There is a growing trend of meditating naked. It fits in with the whole naked consciousness, naked mind, naked truth way of thinking. Well, when we meditate naked with our eyes open and our gaze angled down what we see is our own cock, our Lingam, in Sanskrit. Our Lingam is the center of our masculinity and a symbolic representation of consciousness. Kind of the perfect object to be gazing at while meditating. Don’t you think?👀
