Self-care Demo: Thymus Thumping

Hey guys, this is the first installment in a series of self-care videos to help everyone stay healthy as we all navigate the pandemic.

The Thymus Gland is located beneath the Sternum and in front of the heart. It is a key component of our immune system and is responsible for the development and training of a very important type of white cell called T-cells. T-cells protect the body from bacteria and virus’s. This is why it is so important to stimulate this gland daily, especially now.

Many indigeneous cultures around world recognize the importance of the Thymus for our health and vitality. When they wake up each day one of the first things they do every morning is pound their chest in order to stimulate this gland.

Here are two examples of the kind of Thymus Thumping I teach in my workshops. Both involve sound. The reason making sound helps the practice is because then you are not only creating vibration on the outside by pounding your chest, you are also creating vibration on the inside to stimulate the Thymus by making sound.

In the demo, the first example involves simple humming while pounding. The second example involves toning the sacred vowels:
OH, AH, AY, OOO, EEE, OH

Even though the Thymus is most active in our youth, its energy continues to be a very powerful force throughout our life.

So each morning, put on your loincloth and enjoy about a minute of pounding your chest like Tarzan. Then go swing from the trees. Six feet apart. ✌️
