Many have heard the Sanskrit word Dharma. It basically describes what we today would refer to as “our calling.” Our Dharma is that thing we do that we love deeply, are very good at, and (this is important) serves others.
Many spend their lives intellectually searching for their thing; their dharma. But while exploring, it is important to not just be listening to the mind, but also the body.
Our passion and purpose isn’t only in our heads. It is also in our hearts.
When we are in the presence of our Dharma we feel calm and confident. There is a sense of excitement and joy. We feel alive.
When we are in the presence of our Dharma there is a natural flow to life. We feel aligned and in our own lane. We come out of our head and lose track of time.
When we are in the presence of our Dharma we feel at home, no matter where we are or who we are with.
When we are in the presence of our Dharma we feel that our life has a consistency, and we begin to recognize the activities that ground us and make us feel safe and strong.
When we are in the presence of our Dharma we feel more confident in our own strengths. We are less likely to compare ourselves to others, or feel the need to compete with them. Rejections and criticism no longer feel like attacks, but important sources of information we can accept or reject depending on whether it helps us more forward.
Knowing our Dharma brings us peace and stability and progress.
Our passions are for us. Our purpose is for others. And when our passion becomes our purpose, it is said that miracles happen.
Follow your bliss, fellas. It is your soul’s way of leaving a trail of breadcrumbs to your Dharma.✌️
