As gay men our charge is to transform sexual culture. We do this by modeling a sex positive attitude. Take gay pornography, for example. In some old, crusty corners of our culture gay content is still maligned as shameful. But if we understand it as sexually accomplished men sharing their beauty and skills, it takes on a much more sex positive perspective. Professional athletes and actors are recompensed for their years of training and skill. The only reason gay content creators are not always celebrated in similar ways is because of beliefs held by some in our culture about sex and sexuality. As gay men, we, and we alone can change these attitudes. And we do this by releasing our own shame, because someone without sexual shame cannot be sex shamed. We literally take the power away from the antiquated beliefs of others by not taking them on ourselves. And by doing this we liberate ourselves and the world of these beliefs.💙
