This Rumi poem reminds us of our importance as sexual shamans. Even though attitudes toward sex are changing, we still have a ways to go before sex is universally celebrated and not shamed.
So it becomes our responsibility to be part of the attitude adjustment; to literally push the shift.
We do this by lighting the way for those lost in a culture of darkness, by lifting up those who have been shoved to the ground, and by supporting those who are struggling to figure out who they are.
By doing this we help heal the souls of others. By doing this we heal our own soul as well.
When we embody a comfort and acceptance of who we are, then and only then, can we move through the world as an example of the kind of world we want to live in.
So….
