fact: yew people apologize to me for the way that you are.... often. like, erreday. and I don’t really blame you because I know that growing up in the society we did has made it impossible to NOT struggle with body-image. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I know what it’s like to battle with every curve of your being. 💔and I’m here today, sharing this with you, because I ALSO know what it’s like to use counseling and healthy coping interventions to c h a n g e the way that I view myself completely ⁣⁣😏 ⁣⁣ lemme tell ya, it’s been a process. change is never easy. and with this specifically? you’re the only person who can truly keep yourself accountable. it’s so easy to fall back into the ⁣self-deprecating spiral. but nay nay. not up in here. NOT UP IN HEA. we’re doing things differently here 😏⁣ ⁣⁣ Do you think 5 yearsss ago Laynee would be THIS open and accepting of her: weight, body shape, ingrown hairs, body hair, double chin, cellulite, saggy mom boobs... I could keep going. The answer is: “how bout no, ya crazy dutch bastard”⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ look, I’ve done the dirty work. Day in and day out for y e a r s I have been reminding myself the truth about my body and calling myself out on my own lies. So, I’m here to remind YOU appx 17 times a day but to see change.... YOU’ve got to do the dirty work ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ so. ahem. the NEXT time you try to apologize to me for your body normality — ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ for your queefing or your discharge. for your hemorrhoids or your belly rolls. your period or your butt pimples. Hmm. for your lack of ‘prettying up’ for our appt. Oh OH I know — for your long or thick or random hair!! Garsh dang it my friends stop apologizing to me for the one thing that I will BEAT you in a competition at.
