The alcohol is cooked out. 🍸 This is a Puerto Rican friend's of mine rum cake. Recipe for Lisa's Aunt's Rum Cake: Make a vanilla cake mix per recipe and pour into a bundt pan. Say it like boont...lol. Make a simple syrup of 1 cup sugar and 1 cup rum. Put in a medium size pan and cook on medium high heat until it boils for about 3-5 minutes. Pour a shot glass of the rum. Drink it while the simple syrup is cooking. When the cake comes out of the oven, poke it a few times with a knife. Pour the simple syrup over the cake. Leave a 1/4 cup of syrup left in the pan. Let the cake cool a bit, invert onto plate. Pour the rest of the simple syrup over the top of the cake. Cover with plastic wrap and let sit for a day or 2. Enjoy!
