✨Reflections of a happy girl. 🤗 This was recorded the first night I arrived in Mexico, which I am sharing today as I leave the country. 🇲🇽 I enjoyed many things about my time here including the rich culture, the flavorful food, and the time spent adventuring with strangers, friends, and family. I was in Vancouver, Canada before this, so Mexico was also an amazing respite from that bitter winter. I feel so lucky to have been embraced by this country for 4 months. 🤗 If I’m being honest, Mexico was also a challenge to me for many reasons, too. I got super sick shortly after arriving which was pretty hard on my mental health. I found free and easy access to nature to be rather limited, which was unexpected. Lack of basic services like electricity and clean water in so many parts of the country was shocking. The political strife here is blatant, with protests everywhere you go, and it makes me feel like I don’t really belong here. But traveling is always illuminating, and I’m glad I finally got to experience my North American neighbors for the first time in such an intimate way. I love the humans everywhere I go, and consider myself to be a global citizen of the world. 🌎 🌍🌏
