i began to love my body when i viewed it as a geographical site. my body is a mountain range filled with valleys; inside those valleys there are rivers that sprawl and rush to connect and make love. maybe along the rivers are trees, and i look at my scars and see branches swaying in the wind as i move my body alongside a lovers. the crevasses and folds are canyons that hold a vast expanse of emotion, and when i look at my legs i see all the places they have carried me. bodies are nature and some mornings i wake up and turn to another hoping my flesh is the shroud of a shade giving tree on a summer day.
