The next day we took an expensive taxi and went to the port of Langkawi to sail to the mainland in Kedah. Miguel was still a little sick from yesterday's attack and somehow did not really want to move somewhere, again an incomprehensible city, again hitchhiking and smiling at the drivers, again looking for somewhere to sleep. In two hours on the ship, we began to understand the Malaysian language from the film that was shown on board. Not even knowing if hitchhiking works here or not, we got out and raised our hand on the track and after 2 minutes we were already driving with two guys, after a few more kilometers we were already in another car, for the first time we were joking and laughing in English (because before that we practically never communicated with anyone in English in our lives) with a local driver. What was his surprise, despite the fact that they change the driver's license every year, to see our Ukrainian international license, which has been valid for 60 years. Soon another driver tells us that he knows a cool island that can be reached via the longest bridge in Malaysia and brings us straight there, although it is expensive and he doesn’t even need to go there, he tells us about the most beautiful beach on the island and here we are in George Town, we set up a tent under a palm tree overlooking the most beautiful sunset in our lives. So in a day, you can turn from a negative into a positive, thanks to the good and kind people around you along the way. 😊
