We bought instant noodles, water and snacks, had a bite to eat at another eatery, waited out the rain and got out to the outskirts of the city, where we continued to catch a ride. After 10 minutes of waiting, we were picked up by another two guys who immediately specified that they were good friends, but not gays. They, like almost everyone here, were Muslims, but these teenagers were very radically ideologically inclined and expressed their dissatisfaction with the fact that the Chinese were coming to Malaysia and trying to prohibit loud prayers at night, because they could not sleep. Motivating this by the fact that he lets the guest into his house, and he behaves like a host, not letting him listen to his music. So that they were not so angry, we treated them to a cake, to which they objected that it was Ramadan and they did not drink, smoke or eat from 7 am to 7 pm. They began to ask us where we liked it better, in Penang or in Klantan (as their area was called). Trying to answer honestly that we just arrived in this city and were only here for 15 minutes and we still cannot judge this. The driver was not satisfied with this answer and he tried to get out of us what we would say that their area is more f*cking beautiful than others, and we gave him what he wanted, even though it was not true. He rejoiced and took us to the nearest village. Apparently, there have never been tourists here, and people came up to us in surprise with a desire to help and send us to the bus stop, to which we replied that we had no money for the bus. This put them into a stupor and they simply did not know what to do (because not only did they see a tourist for the first time, and even without money). And now a big, cheerful Chinese man is already picking us up, just like that about whom the previous drivers with displeasure told us about Chineses. He was as funny as he was loud. Our eardrums exploded at every sound he made. He was a Buddhist and he was glad to see the Slavs peolples live and not as usual from funny videos from the Internet, which he loved so much, constantly wondering how crazy the Slavs were. He has lived in Malaysia all his life and was born here, like his father, but he still does not stop being Chinese. Think it is generally difficult for the Chinese to become someone else, even having a different citizenship. This kind big man first treats us with some sweets, then decides to take us straight to the port, making a detour for himself several tens of kilometers. Which helped us a lot, because standing in the moonlight on the road is not the most pleasant experience. Later, he takes us to his favorite place so that we can take a couple of pictures of the local landscape (which one is in these photos). And upon arrival at the port, he also buys us two portions of rice with chicken and fish. A little afraid to leave us here. We assure him that everything will be ok and we will easily find a place to camp somewhere on the beach. He left a business card for us to call if anything happened. And here we are, on the other side of Malaysia, setting up a tent, eating rice, admiring the fishing boats. And we end our day, falling asleep to the singing of mosques that we are used to.
