It is also used to make a dry white wine- usually very crisp, full of citrus notes and can sometimes be quite floral on the nose. Historically, Semillion has been used as part of a blend- either for dessert wines or for dry wines, but it is having a spotlight moment right now. Look for producers in the US (California), Argentina, Chili, New Zealand & South Africa exploring and having fun with this tasty little grape by bottling it up as a stand alone, single varietal wine.
