Variety Spotlight: Grenache Grenache is another versatile grape as it can be grown well in many places, used for several purposes and take on many different styles. Most commonly Grenache is a critical component of GSM blends, but it is also used in single varietal bottlings and some producers will make a Rose from this wine. This red grape variety originated in Spain, but its claim to fame are GSM wines coming out of the Chateauneuf-de-Pape region in France. Australia, South Africa and the US are making lovely GSM blends, as well. I am enjoying a Grenache Rose called Pale Flowers from a producer named Linne Calodo out of Paso Robles. As the weather warms up, reach for a Rose and give Grenache a try. Cheers! 🍷
