Initially the song was meant to have a much faster tempo and be more of a pop song as opposed to an emotional ballad. I also wanted to feature a female singer in the second verse, which I never got around to, because the more I worked on the song and the more I'd sing along to it, the more I felt it would sound better slowed down and stripped way of most its instrumentation. I wanted people to really feel the emotions. And so I started over and the version of the song you now know today was born. But I'd love for you to hear the initial direction of the song, and let me know which version you prefer, the one that was officially released or this one. 🇨🇦🇳🇬🇩🇪Boy.
