Story time! As you may already know, I tore my meniscus on..

Story time! As you may already know, I tore my meniscus one week out before my fight back in March. Unfortunately that resulted in pulling out of the fight. Luckily, no surgery was required so my coaches and I made a solid plan moving forward to get healthy and get back in the cage later this year. I travelled to VA to get Infinity Matrix regenerative therapy (stems cells) from my sponsor @newhoperegeneration. 10 days later I started my pt program curated by my strength coach @coach.mikecsp . I was absolutely killing it! 💪💪 Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago when I was on the back end of my rehab, I had a training accident which resulted in setting me back to day 1 😫. I was in a lot of pain and was back on crutches because I couldn’t walk. I told myself I’d give it a full week of staying off it and focusing only on recovery and to allow the cells to do their thing and then make the decision to see my orthopedic if I didn’t see an improvements from that. At the one week mark I was not feeling much pain and was able to walk with my brace and from@there was seeing and feeling daily improvements. Yesterday was my first day back on my pt and I felt great. I’m so happy I have my body the chance to work with the cells and avoid another surgery. I couldn’t be happier. It’s easy to get depressed when you incur one injury after the next, facing set back after set back. But what I’ve learned most in my over 5 years of knee injuries is that you have to give yourself grace and focus on moving forward. Injuries happen so it’s better to just accept it and keep your sights on how you can resolve it and get healthy. That’s it. Sure it sucks and takes time out of what you’d actually be doing but the long term results should always be at the forefront. Focus on setting your health up for success for LONGEVITY and QUALITY of life, not limiting yourself to just one segment like a completion or whatever the case maybe. Yes, always set goals but always look at it as a whole. Thank you @newhoperegeneration for setting me on this path of long term health and recovery. It ain’t always pretty but I am most confident in my body to get through this injury.
