One of my favorite practices for relaxation is a simple yet powerful exercise called "progressive muscle relaxation" (PMR).
Here’s how it works:
Find a quiet space where you can sit or lie down comfortably. Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths.
Start with your feet. Tense the muscles in your toes for about 5 seconds, then release. Notice the difference between tension and relaxation.
Gradually move up your body, tensing and relaxing different muscle groups — your calves, thighs, abdomen, chest, arms, and even your face.
Focus on the sensations in your body as you release each muscle group. Let go of any stress you’ve been carrying.
It’s amazing how much tension we unconsciously hold in our bodies! This exercise helps me reconnect with the present moment and feel calmer, both physically and mentally. I hope you’ll give it a try! 😊
