At band practice last night, we were talking about songs we were working on years ago, and that reminded me of some lyrics (a poem almost) I wrote back then and never got to use, so I thought I'd share them here. I know, I've never shared any of my writing here before, because it's scary! Please be nice :) Daytime Fairytale Lying in a dead man's arms I'm listening for silver I shiver in the night - I've never liked to sleep alone Humming echoes to myself, I'm waiting for my weary dreams to incubate. It's late, the madman wakes the wolves who sing outside my window The darkness fills my heart with broken songs of memories They speak of hidden rage - it is my bl00d they want to see My enemies are clattering their beaks and broken teeth as they speak with my own voice, but you should know my hands are filled with silence Remembering their kisses filled with oxytocin toxins Hidden ghosts beat in my chest against the walls of logic A chorus of forgotten touch, these suffocating thoughts make it so easy to forget how every day we write ourselves another fairytale Fleeing from my consciousness the ravens strike their wings They follow distant aeroplane trails like wasted lines of madness Sadness in my fingertips they tingle with illusions of fire calls.
