For obvious reasons, my husband’s nonprofit employer has political leanings that extend far to the right. Which means that masking and gathering restrictions are of little relevance when it comes to the company’s decision making process. This year, many of the prominent players in evangelical and religious right money machine have decided to go full-on with respect to annual conventions and political fund raising efforts. As someone quite familiar with both the seedy underbelly of life and hypocrisy of many in the Republican Party who preach family values, I’m not ignorant about the shenanigans that go on when repressed and powerful men are away from their wives. And I also don’t believe that it’s a mere coincidence that most of these events are located in very densely stripper-populated sections of the country. My husband, bless his soul, already has plans on his calendar to attend four such events beginning late spring through summer, with the possibility of maybe even tacking on two to three more before it’s all said and done. Which brings me to my point. I do not like this foul system that’s in place one bit whatsoever. The thought of my sweet husband tossing around Benjamins at 3 am in an Orlando strip club, or worse yet, in bed with some gorgeous 19 year old es0rt literally makes me want to 🤮 . So, like any alpha female worth her salt, I’ve decided to take some action to protect my interests. And on the off chance that I might be slightly overreacting, I sought out a second opinion from a wise and valued confidante. Raef. As it turns out, we are in complete agreement (him, gleefully so). My husband is going to have his penis locked up tighter than a drum for each and every one of his upcoming trips. Raef even said that he thinks this might be the best idea that I’ve ever had. And please, don’t get me wrong. I definitely trust my husband 110%. But I’ve also read The Firm and seen the movie. In combination, alcohol and peer pressure are an overpowering cocktail when it comes to my impressionable hubby. And yes, I fully acknowledge the possibility that I’m m being a somewhat paranoid and over controlling wife, but I also think this might be fantastic idea for no other reason than his own protection. It completely alleviates him of any burden to succumb to the pressures of the lecherous horde of men who attend these events. So when you stop for a second to really think about it, I’ll actually be doing him a tremendous favor. I’m broaching the subject tomorrow, and letting him help pick out the model. We need to get him comfortable in this ASAP😊
